Hot Apple rumors: iPod with multi touchscreen in August!

It’s the week of “touchy” news. After the very haptic experience with the washable mouse , digitimes reports that Apple might finally bring us the long expected touchscreen iPod as soon as next month!
Apple has placed an order for touchscreen panels with the Taiwan-based company “Wintek”. The display maker will begin shipping capacitive touch screen panels in the second half of 2007, according to their digitimes sources.
Although Wintek denies these reports in a quick press release , they just refer to the confidentiality of their business relations.

The touch screen feature is one of the long held rumors besides the rumor about the now available iPhone which features a multi touchscreen.
When released it is anticipated that the iPod will feature the same mutitouch coverflow abilities as the iPhone.
Earlier this month Apple brushed up their Macbook pro line of laptops with new low power LCD panels and faster processors.

Can you picture yourself gently rubbing over the surface of your mouse, holding it under the faucet, dry it and use it again? Yeah, ok if you look at your mouse you probably can. So can Belkin. They now announced a fully washable and thereby desinfected mouse. Perfect for bacteria phobics and your clean girlfriend.

chinatown basement parties

after my boss answered the “is it ok to work late one day and leave early another?” question with “definitely” i just had to leave at 1:30.
my coworkers were kinda surprised, but the only thing that’s important is: i’m gone!

even more important: the late evening schedule.
paradox was coming to san francisco to play at li po in chinatown. i just HAD to go there.

i had about two hours to waste so i just took a walk thru chinatown.

compared to the financial district this is a lot more exciting :D

when enicma arrived (accompanied by his girlfriend and her cousin) we went to some (probably indian) restaurant to have a drink and a little bit of food. the bastard of a waiter screwed us over. we’ve been arguing about just two of us wanting a little bit to eat for the whole time he was standing next to us, and yet we got served the plate for four people. which we only noticed when it got down to paying in the end. great.
the food was good tho.

but now for something completely different!
PARTY!
one word: awesome.
it started off with some very dark and abstract beats, not that good to dance to, but great stuff nevertheless. then the next DJ took over and he was dropping all kinds of classics which was even better.
when paradox started playing around midnight it was off the hook.
mixing his tunes with metalheadz and all the other good labels, going all over the history of dnb from hard amen rollers to choppy drumfunk you just couldn’t keep your feet on the ground.

in other news: i have to blame enicma for introducing me to a beer that tastes well. i guess that now i’m no longer the german who doesn’t like beer and hates soccer :(. i’ll just hate soccer some more to make up for the beer thingy :D

last but not least, enicma conned paradox into taking a picture together with us ;)

more evidence

it’s been a while since i posted any of my pictures.
i was kind of lazy taking pictures to begin with, and i wont even talk about the 2 minutes of my time it would take me to upload them.

aaanywaaays, here’s the deal (pun intended).

a beautiful morning in dublin (ca, usa). waiting for the bus at 6:30am

around midnight in dublin (ca, usa), we’ve had quite some fog that day.

my take on the more artsy pictures, i really have to get a proper dslr camera so i can play around with different lenses :/

one more of those abstract artsy thingies. look! i’m a photographer, i take pictures of weird things, like water droplets on a shaving mirror. duh! give me money!

if you want to check out the rest of the stuff i took, it’s right here

yosemite

Ed and his friends went to yosemite national park, and i couldn’t resist the offer to tag along.
i got up at 3:30am and got back home 2am the next morning.

the trip was just awesome. we visited several places including “lower falls”, “inspiration point” and last but not least “glacier point”.
even tho it was just a very small part of the huuuge park, it was enough for one day.

in the end there are two things i want: – get back to yosemite to see more – get a digital SLR to take better pictures

after yosemite we went to oakland’s chinatown to get some late night food.
the place looked as chinese as it can get. the only thing not chinese in there was the translation of the menu.
being the only non-thai in the group i got the weird looks when i started eating my wan tan noodle soup with chopsticks.
i got told it is very uncommon for westerners in the states to be able to use chopsticks, especially for the slippery wan tans.
the soup was delicious and hot (as in temperature), so the first thing i did, was burning my tongue.

impressions 'r us

huge signs, tiny buttons, “i didn’t know” is not the proper excuse for j-walking, it’s “i couldn’t find the button” (it’s the tiny brass ‘nipple’)

hellooooo there, look who’s having a house right next to the bar :D

talk about disgusting, this is considered coffee in the states, i’ll stick to ‘french roast’ for now

nightlife in oakland, the city from a safe distance and cute, snuggly, cuddly killer rakoons.

the christian fundamentalists are all over TV
