It looks like the fifth submarine cable has been cut.
Are there still people out there calling this a conspiracy or accidents?
I hope not.
Take my advice: Stop Now, People Start Noticing!
<sarcasm>
The terrible techno-terrorists have no internet.
The war on terror is won!
Everyone go back to bed.
Your government is doing a great job.
</sarcasm>
Who’s next in line?
Any takers?
North Korea?
Anyone?
From what I hear, the demand for people experienced in cutting submarine cables is quite high at the moment.
I smell big business.
Joint ventures with submarine cable repair companies would be win-win.
I’m sure the US can supply plenty of contractors to mess up the job.
After someone compared my sarcasm and irony spiked view of world politics with poetry I felt like getting down and dirty, jumping onto the haiku bandwagon.

The Big One Will Not Like You
Brings Democracy
I kinda like it, even tho I’m not exactly known for being a haiku fan ;-)
I just hope my inner crystal ball is wrong in what I foresee for Iran’s near future.
It already happened once, they came, liberated, brought democracy, and found it to be so cozy there, that they’re still in the neighborhood.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, [insert your deity here] may help us all.
I was just posting how Iran got conveniently (partly?) cut off the Net four hours ago.
Here’s the stuff to fuel the conspiracy:
US plan to launch Cyber Storm 2 early March.
Just let me quote some of the nicer key points of Cyber Storm 2:
I sincerely hope nothing at all.
But be aware of the fact that on 9/11 there were large terrorist attack drills2 happening during the attacks that “confused” the officials.
Coincidence! You say.
Well, there also were mock attacks staged during the 7/7 London bombings3.
Now they’ve scheduled a large cyber war drill for early March this year, and conveniently, just in time, Iran is offline.
No chance of grass-roots reporting, blogging, direct and unfiltered news from Iran.
If there were something to happen that seems like terrorist attacks and the government later uses it to start something ‘funny’...
...Come back and read this post.
History repeating.
The recent panic about lithium batteries being banned by the TSA/DOT is most likely totally overrated.
All Li-Batteries are banned?
No more spare MP3 player or camera battery on planes?
Read the whole article for some facts and simple checks to see if you’re batteries are fine.
Ever felt like complaining about an election?
Soon you won’t even be able to!
Right here, in good old Germany.
Hell yeah!
Let’s get rid1 of this nasty law that allows hearing of complaints from the commission overlooking elections.
Why?
“Because it wasn’t really used in the past anyways.”
BEST.
REASON.
EVER.
Let’s get rid of German democracy next.
Guess what:
It hasn’t been used a lot lately!
1 Deutscher Bundestag: Aenderung Wahlpruefungsgesetz [16/7463]
Imagine:
You and your first love, both of you age 17, enjoy a movie at the theater together, well, you also feel up on your girlfriend, maybe even touch hear breasts.
Answered any of these with a yes? Beware!
German legislators did all the moral math for you3.
From now on it’ll be SIMPLE.
This will be a felony and you will be sentenced to spend some quality time in prison.
Read on to get all the details, including a list of every-day stuff that will get you prison time.
...sprachlos…

Symbolic actions can be harmful.
Take for instance the Licht aus! Fuer unser Klima (“Lights off! For our climate”) event about to happen Saturday 8th Dec 2007 from 8:00 PM to 8:05 PM.
What’s the deal?
Why exactly is it harmful?
Who would be stupid enough to…?
Why are people participating total morons?
How can you really make a difference?
Find out after the jump.
Germany’s democracy just fell victimg to a classic lemming maneuver.
A formal request (read: “we sued them”) to make the testing protocols (which were the basis of approval for the Nedap voting machines) public was just denied by a German court.
Reasons? “Intellectual Property”.
And that’s even tho they are kown and proven to be as insecure as you can possibly imagine.
That reads “insecure” as in: “let’s accumulate security holes and sell them in an ugly gray box”.
Here’s a page of a Dutch activist group that also proved the blatant insecurities of the Nedap system.
